So what have we to put up with
now? Ledger way, the primary east-west link for a town of almost 300,000 people
is restricted to one lane, permanently. Additionally, the planners have
narrowed the approach to the Armthorpe Road – Ledger Way roundabout so that
vehicles cannot get into the correct lane until the final few metres. Madness
compared to what went before.
The 50mph limit has been reduced to 40 and islands put in at great expense – and for no good reason. There were a handful of accidents over the past few years but caused by drunk drivers and the like, those who don’t respond to any limits, and the normal, responsible drivers have to pay with increased congestion and longer journeys.
To their credit, the left turn out of Armthorpe onto Ledger Way is an improvement. Woohoo.
They’re going to add yet more speed bumps on the main routes in Armthorpe so that it’ll soon be like Rossington, a nightmare.
These faceless people need to stand up and say: ‘Yes we’re the idiot that thought of these things, what are you going to do about it?’
